Alexandra Conunova Violin

Biography

A laureate of the Joseph Joachim Violin Competition in Hanover and a prize-winner at the International Tchaikovsky and Singapore Competitions, Alexandra Conunova is renowned for her virtuoso technique, warm tone, and expressive range of colors. She has also received the Borletti-Buitoni Trust Fellowship.

Conunova has performed with leading orchestras such as the Orchestre de Paris, the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, the NDR Radiophilharmonie, the Orchestre de la Suisse Romande, the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, the Mariinsky Orchestra, and the Russian National Orchestra, collaborating with renowned conductors such as A. Manze, C. Macelaru, L. Foster, T. Currentzis, and G. Noseda, among others.

Recent highlights include her debuts at the Tivoli Festival, BR Klassik Open Air Concert in Nuremberg, the San Francisco Symphony Spotlight series, as well as performances with the Copenhagen Philharmonic, the Oxford Philharmonic Orchestra, the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, and the Belgrade Philharmonic.

In the 24/25 season, Conunova will perform at the Verbier Festival and make her debut with orchestras such as the Filarmonica di Bologna, the BR Rundfunkorchester, the Essen Philharmonic, the Enescu Philharmonic, and PhilZuid. She will also serve as soloist/conductor with the Zagreb Soloists, performing works by Mendelssohn and Piazzolla, and tour across Europe in a duo with Christian Zacharias.

Her recordings, including Prokofiev’s Violin Sonatas and Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, have been widely praised for their technical brilliance and interpretative depth, with Gramophone and The Strad recognizing them as outstanding releases
